ดีไซน์ไทยโดดเด่นบนเวทีโลกในงาน Milan International Design Week 2016

เมื่อวันที่ 13 เมษายน 2559 นายธนา เวสโกสิทธิ์ เอกอัครราชทูต ได้เป็นประธานเปิดงานนิทรรศการ “Slow Hand Design: Bar Crops & Props” จัดโดยกรมส่งเสริมการส่งออก กระทรวงพาณิชย์ ร่วมกับ บ. มิตรผล ในงานแสดงสินค้าดีไซน์ร่วมสมัย Ventura Lambrate 2016 ซึ่งจัดขึ้นในช่วง Milan International Design Week 2016 ระหว่างวันที่ 12-17 เมษายน 2559 โดยมีผู้ประกอบการไทยเข้าร่วมจำนวน 10 บริษัท นำเสนอสินค้าตกแต่งบ้าน เครื่องประดับ และเครื่องใช้สอยอื่น ๆ ซึ่งเป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ชนะรางวัล Design Excellence Award หรือ DEmark Award ของสำนักส่งเสริมมูลค่าเพิ่มเพื่อการส่งออก กรมส่งเสริมการส่งออก เพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้นักออกแบบ และผู้ประกอบการไทยได้แสดงผลงานสู่ตลาดโลก ซึ่งเป็นการต่อยอดมาจากรางวัล Prime Minister's Export Award (PM Award) ซึ่งสินค้าไทยที่นำมาแสดงได้รับความนิยมชมชอบจากผู้เข้าชมเป็นจำนวนมาก

นอกจากนี้ ผู้ประกอบการไทยเข้าร่วมจำนวน 8 บริษัท ได้เข้าร่วมแสดงสินค้าเฟอร์นิเจอร์ Salone del Mobile 2016 ซึ่งเป็นงานแสดงสินค้าเฟอร์นิเจอร์ เครื่องใช้และเครื่องตกแต่งบ้าน ที่ใหญ่ที่สุดอันดับ 2 ของโลก (รองจากงาน Maison & Objet ที่กรุงปารีส) จัดขึ้นที่ศูนย์แสดงสินค้า Rho Fiera เมืองมิลาน โดยได้นำเสนอสินค้าเฟอร์นิเจอร์ซึ่งออกแบบโดยได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากรูปแบบขนมไทย ภายใต้แนวคิด “Eco Agro Café Sweet Tooth” ซึ่งเป็นการสื่อการออกแบบที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมและการใช้ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติอย่างเต็มประสิทธิภาพ อาทิ เก้าอี้ที่ออกแบบให้มีรูปร่างคล้ายขนมใสไส้ และโซฟาที่แสดงถึงการห่อ/บรรจุกาละแม

Thai Designs Shine at Milan International Design Week 2016

Milan – 13 April 2016 : Ambassador Tana Weskosith presided over the opening of the “Slow Hand Design Bar Crops & Props” Exhibition at Ventura Lambrate 2016, part of Milan International Design Week 2016. The exhibition was jointly organized by Thailand Institute of Design and Innovation Promotion (TIDI), Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) and Mitr Phol company, a global sugar manufacturing enterprise. It showcased the design collection of the Design Excellence Award, or the DEmark Award, which is given annually by TIDI in collaboration with the Prime Minister's Export Award (PM Award) to recognize and promote outstanding Thai product designers. Each product reflected the idea of agricultural crop-cycles and its by-products, which were extended into design objects commonly used by global consumers.

Thai products were also a hit at the Salone del Mobile 2016, in which six Thai companies participated. Thai furniture on display were developed using the concept of “Eco Agro Café Sweet Tooth,” using traditional Thai sweets and eco-friendliness as inspiration.
