During 17 – 18 April 2023, H.E. Ms. Rommanee Kananurak, Ambassador of Thailand to Italy welcomed Mr. Chula Sukmanop, Secretary – General of the Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand (EECO) and the delegation who visited Italy for an Economic Roadshow in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in Rome and H.E. Mr. Paolo Dionisi, Ambassador of Italy to Thailand. The Roadshow was also attended by representatives from Board of Investment of Thailand (Paris office) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

On 22 April 2023, H.E. Ms. Rommanee Kananurak, Ambassador of Thailand to Italy inaugurated Muay Thai competition “THAI FIGHT ROME” at Pala Cesaroni, Rome. It was organized by Mr. Nopporn Watin, President and CEO of THAI FIGHT Company Limited.

On 23 March 2023, H.E. Ms. Rommanee Kananurak, Ambassador of Thailand to Italy had a meeting with H.E. Mrs. Alessandra Schiavo, Deputy Director – General for Global Affairs/Principal Director for the Countries of Asia and Oceania at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Both sides discussed ways to promote Thailand-Italy bilateral relations on the occasion of the 155th anniversary of diplomatic relations, especially the high-level visits in 2023 and cooperation in the ASEAN framework, in particular the convening of the 7th High – Level Dialogue on ASEAN - Italy Economic Relations in October 2023 in Bangkok. Both sides also exchanged information on recent regional cooperation, namely the relaunch of Thai-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations and the ratification of Thailand-EU Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.

On 31 March 2023, H.E. Ms. Rommanee Kananurak, Ambassador of Thailand to Italy delivered opening remarks on the occasion of “Thailand Day” at the 20th Asian Film Festival, Cinema Farnese, Rome. The event was attended by Team Thailand representatives in Italy, Italian public and private sector, foreign Embassies in Italy, and the press.

On 8 March 2023, H.E. Ms. Rommanee Kananurak, Ambassador of Thailand to Italy attended the opening of The Goodness – La Bonta, Thabadin Boonnuang’s Third Solo Exhibition at Palazzo Durini, Milan upon the invitation from Thai – Italian Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Thabadin Boonnuang, an independent Thai artist and scholar. The exhibition aimed at promoting Thai art in the context of Buddhism and its interpretation of concept and belief that represents good deeds as well as exchanging knowledge of art and philosophical concepts through the works of art.

On 20 February 2023, ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR) under the Chairmanship of Viet Nam organized a working luncheon with Mr. Romano Prodi, President of Italy – ASEAN Association (former Italian Prime Minister and President of the European Commission), Mr. Michelangelo Pipan, Vice President, and Mr. Romeo Orlandi, Vice President of the Association, which is one of ACR’s counterparts.

On 18 January 2023, ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR) under the Chairmanship of Viet Nam organized a working luncheon with H.E. Ms. Maria Tripodi, Undersecretary (responsible for Asia region), Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy to discuss and strengthen ASEAN – Italy cooperation under the context of ASEAN – Italy Development Partnership. Also present at the working luncheon were H.E. Mrs. Alessandra Schiavo, Deputy Director General for Global Affairs/ Principal Director for Asia and the Pacific and Mr. Giovanni Davoli, Undersecretary Tripodi’s Chief of Staff.

On 8 February 2023, H.E. Ms. Rommanee Kananurak, Ambassador of Thailand to Italy together with the Embassy’s officials had a meeting with Mr. Giorgio Saccoccia, President of Italian Space Agency (ASI) and Mrs. Gabriella Arrigo, Head of International Affairs Directorate.

On 21 December 2022, H.E. Ms. Rommanee Kananurak, Ambassador of Thailand to Italy gave a briefing on Thailand as APEC Chair for 2022 to students enrolling in Bachelor’s Degree in Global Governance (English language programme), the Department of Economics and Finance, University of Rome Tor Vergata.

On 6 December 2022, H.E. Ms. Rommanee Kananurak, Ambassador of Thailand to Italy and the current Chair of ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR) together with ACR Ambassadors and officials from ACR Embassies visited the Asia Institute, University of Bologna. The delegation met with Professor Raffaella Campaner, Vice Rector for International Relations, University of Bologna and discussed ways to promote academic cooperation between ASEAN and the University which is in line with ASEAN-Italy Development Partnership: Practical Cooperation Areas (PCA 2022-2026) in which socio-cultural cooperation is identified as one of the practical areas of cooperation.
