Ms. Kundhinee Aksornwong, Charge’ d’Affaires a.i. delivered her speech by honouring His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great for his dedication to Thailand’s national development during his reign to aiding the development of Thailand and to improve the livelihoods of Thai people, especially through soil and water resource development projects. In this regard, 5 December was officially recognized as World Soil Day by the UN in recognition of the late King’s lifetime work on soil management and conservation. The said legacy has been continuing its implementation until nowadays, as strongly determined by His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua. Ms. Aksornwong addressed on global situation that has impact Thai economy and livelihood of the Thai people. Therefore, government’s priority is to promote economic recovery and sustainable development. Ms. Aksornwong also addressed on the 155 year-long-standing and friendly relations between Thailand and Italy, with close cooperation in all field as well as the cooperation under the ASEAN-Italy Development Partnership. She expressed hope to advance cooperation with Italy by increasing trade and investment opportunities in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) of Thailand in the fields of clean energy, the Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG) development, and green industry. On this occasion, H.E. Ms. Schiavo also delivered her remarks on the dynamics of Thai-Italian bilateral relations, including tourism, culture, cooperation in combating transnational crime and cooperation at people-to-people level, especially in the field of trade and investment, in which Thailand is Italy's second largest market in ASEAN. She also congratulated on the success of Thai’s private sectors’ investment in Italy. Furthermore, she hopes that the Free Trade Agreement between Thailand and the EU will further intensify the commerce between both countries. |
